It was a cloudy & humid day, but nothing could stop the heartwarming day that was Ben’s proposal to Marlee. Ben reached out to me after he saw Marlee’s graduation photos I shot and asked me if I could capture the proposal he was planning. Knowing Marlee from college, it was exciting for me to be able to capture another monumental moment in her life. Capturing important moments like these for my clients always reminds me why I do what I do!

The original plan was for Ben & Marlee to enter through the main entrance of the Botanical Gardens while I stayed multiple steps ahead of them to be prepared for when Ben popped the big question. Halfway through my walk to the final destination, where the proposal would be, I realized I was looking at the map wrong! Luckily, Ben & Marlee had a similar mistake, so everyone was able to make their way. As they approached the Rock Gardens, I patiently waited for the moment to happen. At a nice area overlooking the Rock Garden, Ben pulled Marlee off to the side for an intimate conversation and you could see the excitement gather between the two. I began snapping photos while Ben got down to one knee and Marlee jumped with excitement. After repeatedly laughs and hugs and the final “YES!”, I began to take their pre-engagement session photos.

As we began shooting, you could just see the look of pure bliss on Marlee & Ben’s face. Whatever pose they were in, they just erupted in smiles and laughter, making the photos all more easy to capture. You can tell how in love these two are from the way Ben hugs Marlee to the smile Marlee has whenever she sees Ben. Even going through the photos, I can’t help but smile as I see the photos because the two are so great for each other.
