When you put many talented vendors together in a beautiful, naturally lit venue, you create the perfect learning and shooting environment! Last week I had the opportunity to attend a bridal shootout designed by Rebecca at her venue Stem & Light. The shootout was as an educational session where Rebecca gave us advice on different approaches to photographing a bride and her details. Being able to learn how Rebecca guides and poses her bride, then watching her demonstrate live really helped cement the ideas she shared into my mind. My favorite part was when we broke off into groups and practiced the techniques with one another. I liked this because I could try my approach then watch the next photographer’s approach and see what they’re doing differently and ask them why. Watching videos does not give you same opportunity to learn as much as being there in person does.
